Privacy
Policy
The short version
- There is no account, no sign in, and no profile.
- ThermoDiem does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to us. We operate no servers and hold no database of users.
- Your location is used on your device to request a forecast, and is sent only to Apple's weather service for that purpose.
- There is no advertising, no analytics SDK, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
Who this applies to
This policy covers the ThermoDiem app for iPhone and Apple Watch, including its Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and watch complications, and this website.
ThermoDiem is an independent app. In this policy, "we" means the developer of ThermoDiem, whose contact details are at the end.
Information we collect
We collect none. ThermoDiem has no account system, no login, no analytics service, and no backend of its own. We receive no information about you, your device, or your use of the app.
The app stores a small amount of data on your device so it can work: the locations you have chosen, your unit preference, and the most recent forecast it fetched. This stays on your device and in your device's own backups. It is never sent to us.
Location
ThermoDiem needs a location to tell you what the weather feels like there. You can either grant location access or enter a place manually. If you decline location access, the app still works with places you enter yourself.
How your location is used
- It is read on your device and used to request a forecast for those coordinates.
- Those coordinates are sent to Apple's weather service in order to return the forecast. They are not sent anywhere else.
- We never receive your location. It is not logged, profiled, or used to identify you.
- The app requests only the precision it needs for a local forecast.
Turning it off
You can change or revoke location access at any time in Settings, Privacy and Security, Location Services on iPhone, or in the Watch app on Apple Watch. Widgets and complications use the same permission as the app.
Weather data
Forecast data is provided by Apple Weather through WeatherKit. When the app or a widget refreshes, the coordinates for the location being shown are sent to Apple so a forecast can be returned. Apple's handling of that request is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Data sources for Apple Weather are listed at weatherkit.apple.com/legal-attribution.html.
Diagnostics and crash reports
ThermoDiem includes no analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry software of its own.
If you have turned on Apple's own "Share With App Developers" setting on your device, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymised crash and performance data through App Store Connect. That is entirely Apple's mechanism and your choice, and it is controlled in Settings, Privacy and Security, Analytics and Improvements. We cannot identify you from it.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information. There is none to sell.
- No emails, newsletters, or push notifications unless you have explicitly asked for them.
App Store privacy label
The declaration submitted to Apple for this app is Data Not Collected.
| Category | Status |
|---|---|
| Contact information | Not collected |
| Location | Not collected by us |
| Identifiers | Not collected |
| Usage data | Not collected |
| Diagnostics | Not collected |
| Data linked to you | None |
| Data used to track you | None |
Children
ThermoDiem is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that threshold. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to delete on a parent's request, but you are welcome to contact us with any question.
Retention and deletion
We hold no personal data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Everything the app saves lives on your device. Deleting the app removes it, along with its saved locations and preferences.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to its processing. These include rights under the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to produce or erase. If you would like confirmation of that in writing, or you have any other request, contact us and we will respond.
For California residents: we do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
